Personal data
Personal data is processed through our web shop www.julianandjones.com. Personal data is information that can be used to identify a natural person. We store personal data to ensure correct processing of your order. Julian & Jones attaches great importance to the careful handling of personal data. Personal data are carefully processed and secured by us. In our processing we comply with the requirements of privacy legislation. Personal data will not be passed on to other organisations for commercial purposes.

Creation of log files
If you use our website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register yourself or otherwise provide us with information, our system collects data from you only when you visit our website via an affiliate link from our own partner programme. The following data is then collected in a database log table.

User's IP address and internet provider
These database tables contain IP addresses or other data that could potentially assign to a user. This is possible if, for example, order data can be linked to log data via an IP address.

Purpose and legal basis for data processing
Storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. The data are also used to optimise the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context. This processing is necessary for the protection of the legitimate interests of Julian & Jones.

Duration of storage
The storage period of data in our database log table is seven years. After seven years, this data is deleted by us.

Possibility of opposition and deletion
The collection of data for making the website available and the storage of data in log files is necessary for the functioning of the website and thus a legitimate purpose as mentioned in Article 6(1)(f) of the GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION. You therefore have no right to object.

Using our online shop
If you wish to order in our online shop, it is necessary for the conclusion of a contract that you provide us with your personal data, which we need to process your order. This also applies to the transmission of the data required to process your order with payment service providers such as our bank.

Mandatory data required for contract processing are marked separately, other data are voluntary. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(a) of the GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION.
You can voluntarily create a customer account that allows us to store your data for subsequent purchases. When you create an account under "My Account", the data you provide will be stored revocably. Your orders are automatically saved under your customer account. If you wish to delete your customer account, please send us an e-mail to: info@julianandjones.com. Julian & Jones will then delete your customer account permanently and completely, unless legitimate interests of Julian & Jones or legal storage obligations prevent this.

We may also process the information you provide to inform you about other interesting products in our portfolio or to send you technical information by e-mail. We are legally obliged to store your address, payment and order data for a period of ten years. After two years, however, we will restrict processing, i.e. your data will only be used to fulfil our legal obligations. To prevent unauthorised third-party access to your personal data, especially financial data, the order process is encrypted using TLS technology.

Purposes and legal basis on which data are processed
Julian & Jones processes personal data on the basis of the bases set out in the GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION, namely (1) because this is necessary for the performance of an agreement with you / the handling of the order, or (2) because this is necessary for the protection of our legitimate interests or those of a third party, or (3) on the basis of your consent or (4) because this is necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation such as being able to comply with legal, tax or accounting requirements.

The personal data that Julian & Jones processes in the context of messages from Julian & Jones will only be processed for the following purposes: to get in touch with you; to inform you about new products and/or offers from Julian & Jones (whether or not focused on the areas of interest made known by you); to analyse and improve Julian & Jones services; to conduct market research for the benefit of Julian & Jones; to execute an agreement. Julian & Jones will only process your personal data in any other way if you have given Julian & Jones unambiguous permission to do so. Such consent may be evident from the mere fact that you submit a question to Julian & Jones by e-mail or otherwise, whereby Julian & Jones processes your personal data in the context of answering the question.

Order processing
When you place an order with us, we use your personal data to handle it properly. We may give your personal data to our delivery service to have the order delivered to you. We also receive payment information from your bank or credit card company. For this purpose we use your e-mail address, telephone number, billing address, address details and gender. We need these because of the contract we conclude with you.

Provision to third parties
We sometimes share your personal data with third parties, such as service providers that we contact, for example: delivery services (e.g. Post.ch, GLS Logistic Systems, ...); payment processors (e.g. Post.ch, Stripe, Prestashop Pay, PayPal); Review parties (e.g. Trustpilot); ICT companies (e.g. hosting providers) In addition, there are other companies that obtain personal data by means of cookies, for example Google Analytics, Google Optimize, Sovendus, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, VWO-Wingify and Hotjar, ... . In some cases, we share your personal data with third parties located outside the EEA. In these cases, we have put in place appropriate safeguards to ensure that personal data can be lawfully and securely transferred.
We will ensure that appropriate measures are taken when we transfer your personal data to third parties. For example, we will enter into a processor agreement where necessary (setting out restrictions on the use of your personal data and obligations regarding the security of your personal data).

Data retention period
Your personal data will not be stored for longer than necessary for the purposes for which the personal data were collected and processed. Only if we are legally obliged to do so, or if this is necessary to defend our interests in court (e.g. in case of a dispute), will we keep personal data for longer periods.

Email address
We only keep your e-mail address if you have given your explicit consent. Permission can be given, for example, when creating a Medpets account, placing an order, subscribing to our newsletter or contacting us via our contact form.

Contactformular
The contact form allows you to ask us questions or make requests. To do this, we use your name and address, telephone number and e-mail address. We need these because of the contract we conclude with you. We keep this information until we are sure you are satisfied with our response.

Newsletter
We offer a newsletter with which we want to inform interested parties about our products and/or services. Every newsletter contains a link through which you can unsubscribe yourself. In addition, you can contact our customer service by e-mail (free of charge) or telephone to remove your e-mail address from our newsletter subscriber list. Your e-mail address will be added to the list of subscribers only with your consent. We keep at least the e-mail address of newsletter subscribers. In addition to your e-mail address, we may add additional personal data to the profile of newsletter subscribers. We receive this data from you when you create an account with us or place an order (if this is with the same e-mail address as your newsletter subscriber).

If you create an account with us using the e-mail address to which you are subscribed to the newsletter, we will store the following data (if filled in): gender; first name; surname; date of birth; Finally, we may complete your data if you place an order with us using the e-mail address to which you are subscribed to the newsletter. This includes the following data: gender; company name (if specified by the customer); telephone number (if specified by the customer); first name; surname; street name; house number + possible addition; postal code; city; country; date of birth; telephone number; e-mail address; product(s) ordered; order date; order amount; The above personal data will be linked to newsletter subscribers until you cancel the subscription.

Profiling
The newsletter we send can be addressed to all newsletter subscribers and is the same for everyone. It is also possible that we send a newsletter to a 'subset' of all newsletter subscribers. In that case, we use profiling: we then create so-called segments of groups of people who share similar characteristics. These segments are based, among other things, on order history and website behaviour. On the basis of order history, we look at the following: products ordered (brand, product category, product); pet (for which pet the product was intended); order date; In practice, this means, for instance, that on the basis of someone's order date, we can estimate when the purchased feed runs out. Just before we think the feed is finished, we send the customer an e-mail asking if this customer would like to order the same feed again.

Productreview e-mail
If you place an order with us, your e-mail address will be stored. A few days after your order, you will receive an e-mail from us at this e-mail address inviting you to write a review of your purchased product(s). If you no longer wish to receive these product review e-mails for future orders, you can easily unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe button in this e-mail. In addition, you can object to these product review emails by contacting our customer service. This can be done by sending an e-mail to info@julianandjones.com (free of charge) or by calling +41 (0)21/784 09 91 (your rate can be found with your provider).

We also ensure that third parties and affiliates processing personal data on behalf of Julian & Jones observe adequate security and operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
